I am interested in how contemporary social conditions affect intimacy and often produce an atomized society in which loneliness and isolation proliferate. New technology and social media can encourage this lack of intimacy, but at the same time, the development of new media leads to fewer and fewer opportunities for face-to-face communication between people. Many people choose to rely on the Internet and fear intimate contact, which leads to the indifference of social distance and interpersonal relationships. My work is concerned with human intimacy and the ways in which contemporary society produces an indifference to inter-personal relationships.

In fact, people's fear of intimacy coexists with their desire to establish it. There are two selves in people, and one is a really weak self. The other is a strong false self. Avoid barriers to intimacy. The latter self is a protective self derived from protecting the former self. Like a mask, it is a protective strategy adopted in the social environment. The writing of Research on the influencing factors of interpersonal apathy and Alone Together has influenced the direction of my recent work. There are also many artists who influence me, such as Louise Bourgeois, Munch, Antony Gormley…

I used different forms (a range of media, including painting, drawing, photography, and animation) to express people's different states, showing the contradictions and struggles that people want to break through themselves and tend to self-protection. So in the first stage, my work is about bondage and self closure. In the second stage, I will still focus on interpersonal relations, but I will pay attention to the release and the establishment of empathy.
